Hell Events.
Defining Failure Moments.
WHAT it is
Hell Events are the moments that define a business not by what went right, but by what went catastrophically, expensively wrong. They are structural failures that have been normalized into the operating assumptions of the organization.
HOW it works
The framework identifies seven core types of Hell Events, including:
Hiring (Wrong person, wrong time)
Cash (Money ran out unexpectedly)
Partner (Foundational misalignment)
Identity (Loss of clarity/purpose)
Scale (Growth as liability)
Betrayal (Violation of trust)
Direction (Strategy bet failed)
WHY it matters
Hell Events are not random bad luck. They are the predictable output of unexamined psychological patterns (Dragons) and structural gaps. Naming the Hell Event is the first step toward reclaiming Sovereignty over the system.
